Maybe it was a soul you didn't need to hold onto anymore and that was the only place you could go where it wouldn't be recovered.

Most likely because I write more about sad things than I do about happy things. ;)
It's a sad thing and a good thing at the same time.
It really was my fault you lost the necklace.

Nah, It had been taken off many many many times before. I even had it before I met you, but wasn't wearing it at the time. It was something I bought to prove to myself that I was living a new life and leaving an old one behind. It was the right time for it to be lost, though.

I was about to say that I didn't remember any necklace from the short time we were acquainted and I even had to pull out pictures (yes I have pictures >:) ) to prove there was no such necklace at the time.

I had the necklace for a year or two before that, but didn't have it at the time.
Pictures? I know not what you speak of. ;)
